LABOR DAY WEEKEND

My Summer blog is currently turning into a weekly blog maybe, maybe not.  Well I spent my Labor Day weekend in NYC (Friday- Monday), and it was FUNNNNNNNNN. I got to handle Business and meet some great team members of the Rise Africa Family. for thoese that don't  know Rise Africa is a social entrepreneurship Powered by young adults for young adults. www.africaisdonesuffering.com is a central online location where individuals can gather to discuss African current events, educate one another, and encourage progressive thinking and action. Our main goal is to use communication as a tool to bring together young Africans scattered throughout the nations.

I also had time to Party with my Pageant Sister Isha. I kid you not!!! never a dull moment with that girl. I met Isha when I did the Miss Africa USA pageant back in 2011 and from the first day we met! we just clicked. I love traveling with Isha I swear we are almost the same person, I have traveled to a couple of places with Isha in the past, we  went to Atlanta and Nashville together and Yes!!!! both epic trips. Sometimes I even think she is Nigerian but shes not, she is actually from Sierra Leone my Salone titi I call her lol. SO of course when I told Isha hey Lets go to NYC she was down. Of course I brought my Canon Digital Camera for no reason cause I didn't pull it out once *sigh* I  made use of  my iphone5 instead. 

                                                                

We Stayed at the Paramount Hotel Times Square in Manhattan.

Very nice and sultry . Didn't expect our room to be as small after paying so much, but I guess what we paid for was for the view and ambiance.  

Got there Friday morning. Rested and started our day with Drinks at Haven Rooftop.

Friday Night-  Enjoyed the NYC night life with Party promoter and Event planner "pboyz" Ray

So we started a lil photo shoot lol some one squat me pls! 

So partied out! We went to all the Good spots. No lines, no door fee, no standing. Just straight flexing!!! Hahahaha 

Ended our Friday night at a Breafast Spot. Have you ever had a lobster omelet? Lol Leave it to me to incorporate seafood in any meal. 

Saturday

Started our day at RiseAfrica meet for Brunch at the Harlem Maison Resturant.

Saturday ended with a nice walk and Ice Cream through Central Park.

Decide to party Nigerian Style only.

Went to the NEA pre party it was good.

Met some cool people.

Spent it with Rise Africa.

We had our official meet with our readers and friends based in NYC at Times Square Daves and busters.

It was a success 

I Spent Sunday night partying, from manhathan to harlem then back to manhattan with Ray and his Friends. I tell you I was drained!!!!

As soon as I got on the plane Monday morning I was K.O

MY DAY

YES!!! FRIDAY AUGUST 16TH I CELEBRATED MY BIRTHDAY!! AND I AM WRITING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I AM STILL EXCITED FROM THE FUN TIMES I HAD WITH MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I STARTED CELEBRATING THE WHOLE MONTH OF AUGUST, WHICH IS ONLY RIGHT FOR A LEO. HERE IS A RUN DOWN OF HOW MY WEEKEND WENT.

THURSDAY AUGUST 15TH 
I had an impromptu Photo shoot with the ChukStar Photography. He happened to be at my house, asked me what I wanted for Birthday, I said a photo shoot,,, WAHLAAA I got it. I guess you can say "ask and it shall be given". I took the pictures right before I went out for our traditional family Birthday dinner at the cheesecake factory.

FRIDAY AUGUST 16TH (My actual Bday)
I woke up to a phone call from my mother, then she leaves you another voice mail singing I swear it gets more priceless every year. Of course I dressed a little over the top for work. I had my desk decorated with happy birthday signs and all that good stuff, it made my heart melt. I got a surprise delivery of  flowers and a big box of chocolate from my "Favorite Ninja". lol makes it a Little special he went through my Sis just to send me a gift.  After work I came home to another delivery of flowers, from my lol Husband "23 roses for my birthday girl" cute right??? I guess when I turn 24 I should expect 2 dozen lol.

I felt really really special receiving gifts, like my new leather laptop bag. "now I can take ZG with me wherever" good friends give thoughtful gifts!!!

We took over Chicago Night Life, like seriously it was a party to remember. Ajie (My Birthday Twin) planned our whole Friday night and it was Superb. The plan was to party AKATA style. it was the perfect hint of ghetto and a dash of ratchetness. Our Friends came out, the DJ was greatttttttttttttt!!!!!!!, our table was the livest, everybody had a cause to celebrate, and the moment was all capture by our photographer friend. I had a great time!!!!!

SATURDAY AUGUST 17TH
I had my birthday dinner at a Vintage Italian Vinci Restaurant, The food was great and the service was impeccable. our chef for the night was the funniest person ever, he danced with us half the time. We had a private dinner section so we had our own music, and of course we only listened to Nigerian music.

I loved my dress even though it was heavy lol. I loved the sequin/beads design details, I loved the length and color, I loved the shoulder pads and the way it shinned in the night.  overall I had a great time, I thank GOD i was alive and able to celebrate another year. Soon this will all be good memories shared with great people.
